Remember back when I first arrived to Pittsburgh and I found out there was a Bikram Yoga studio here? I remember that. It was the happiest moment I had for a while. The only problem was I didn't want to venture downtown to find it, and I wasn't sure how I'd find it because...Well...Pittsburgh is confusing. And to be quite honest I hated Pittsburgh, and I'm 99 percent sure that if I went to find this place I'd end up having an emotional break down in the middle of the road then I'd get honked at by everyone, then I'd just hate it all more etc...I decided against it. When my mom came out to visit me she said she'd go with me if I wanted to. (I got my mom to go to Bikram back in Utah. Turns out she loved it. Victim numero Uno.)
So last week sometime one of my co-workers got talking to me about wanting to do some type of work out class. So I mentioned Bikram Yoga. It was worth a shot. I explained what it was, and amazingly she agreed to give it a try. Amazing. So we went. Turns out, now that I don't hate Pittburgh, and I kind of know where places are (and someone was with me) it wasn't so bad finding it. During the whole class I was PETRIFIED she'd come out after it and tell me I was crazy. So sure of it. Yet, to my surprise, she came out and told me it was "freaking awesome" in her freaking awesome polish accent (which made her thinking it was cool...that much cooler.) She wanted to go the next night. (Victim numero dos)
We planned on it. This time I was giving Ty a hard time about it, telling him he should come. Turns out he agreed. Quite readily might I add...surprising? Yes, but wait. SOOooo we get in the car, we head out to get my friend, and then something was said about it being hot... Oh yes, I told Ty he would proably want to take his shirt off when he goes in. He asked why, and I said because it's hot. Ty Totally turned on me. BeWaRe.
Ty said: "THIS IS HOT YOGA?"
Em said: "um yeah Ty ... Bikram equals Hot ... You know that I used to do it at home all the time"
Ty said: "YEAH, but I forgot and you didn't explain it to me very well when you asked if I would go!! I thought we were going to a simple {yoga} class?!"
Em said: "ummmm.....no. But this isn't hard, just hot."
Feeling super bad now, because in all honesty going and doing yoga in a 104 degree room doesn't sound to fun. I know.
Em said: "well babe. You can just go home, I'm sorry. You really don't have to do this."
Ty said: "It's fine I'll do it. You were excited I was going. Whatever. I'll try it."
hummm.
So we do the class. Breathing exercises...standing series...balancing series...sitting series....stretching series...breathing exercises 90 minutes later...over.
During one of the series I remember looking over at Ty, wondering what he was thinking. Finally made eye contact with him, and I'm pretty sure {from what I thought} I got the I'm-going-to-kill-you-when-we-get-out-of-this-place look. (which by the way, the look wasn't a look at all. He was just tired and was spacing off. He said he was looking straight through me)
Class is over. We walk out. Changed. Dropped my friend off. (still paranoid about what Ty thought about the class) Ty turns to me and says...
Ty said: "That was FREAKING AWESOME!! HELL YEAH!!"
Ty: "Why didn't you tell me about this before?!"
Still Ty: "We are SSOOOOooooo getting passes to go back for more!"
Again: "H.e.l.l. YEAH!"
(Victim numero tres)
Basically Ty's reaction was the best (and this was word for word pretty much) ...
Moral of the story...I have converted 3 people to love Bikram Yoga...
Who's next?
Try it...I dare you

How funny. So I seriously rarely work out and almost never have a desire to, but you are selling me on this yoga stuff. Tyson is hilarious and maybe I will become a victim as well. Glad you found the yoga studio, pittsburgh is scary to navigate. I still hesitate going to new places and areas.
