Simplified Labor and Hospital stay story...

Payson, Payson, Payson.
Welcome into this world.
How it all started...
*Around 9:50 p.m. Tuesday May 22 my water broke.
I believe it is because Payson was kicking it so hard.
He has a NASTY kick.
and after feeling contractions, it totally wasn't a contraction, it was a kick.
That night I sat down on the exercise ball (you know, they say those bring on delivery) to read when he decided to go on his kicking spree again.
So after about 2 kicks I decided to stand up to give him a bit more room to move around in.
He did one nasty kick, like he dropped kicked my uterus, when I then felt this pop inside me and next thing I know I was peeing my pants.
Ty had sat down maybe 10 minutes earlier to study for test, when I turned to him and said um...I think my water broke, or I really need to do kegals more because I just peed my pant.
then there was another gush, it just kept coming out, when I decided no there's a lot more coming out than if I had needed to pee, it's definitely my water. Uh Ty what do I do?!
So my husband then said, Well first off get the freak off my carpet...that's disgusting!!
*Drive to the hospital.
My husband decided that the moment my water had broke and I should get to the hospital, that it was when he needed to shave his face, eat a snack, get the computer together so he could study at the hospital and study the next day...ect.
Don't worry, my contactions had totally started and he wasn't really phased that I needed to get to the hospital.
Guess I didn't need to have my bag packed prior to this, I could have done it while Ty was "getting ready".
Finally around 10:30 we  he are is ready and we get in the car.
Now is when he decides we needed to rush to the hospital.
He is driving fast.
I am having contractions.
We live in pittsburgh, and the roads have some potholes potholes has a little bit of decent roads.
Meaning
Fast driving + Contractions + Potholes being hit at a fast pace (bumpy drive) = a VERY uncomfortable ride and a VERY unhappy wife.
I told him to slow the pace, the baby isn't coming yet.
We get to the hospital and into triage around 11:15.
(p.s. the night before we watched Brian Regan. The part where he talks about the pain scale...)
The nurse asked if I'd rate my pain.
Could not for the life of me keep a straight face.
I knew if I said 8 I'd get some meds.
So I said 6. I wasn't dying yet.
*Fast forward to 5:35 A.M. when it was time to get moving.
Tyson was sleeping.
I tried yelling at him to wake him up. He didm't budge. The nurses then asked if i wanted him awake for this. Uh..ya. So we were all yelling at my dear husband to wake for for the birth. Finally he asked in a groggy voice, what's going on? Well you're about to have a baby.
I started at 6:00, Payson was born at 6:20.
The epidural gave me the shakes, horribly.
haha
It was kind of funny.
I couldn't control my legs, They just wabbled, and my teeth just chattered.
*My mom was getting in the 24th. Payson was born the 23rd. Ty was still in a rotation, However he got Payson's birthday off. I got to eat a turkey sandwich again...finally after a long 9 months of no deli. I had a baby. Unbelievable.
Tyson went home to sleep the next night after I had the baby. He had a class at 7, and neither of us got any sleep the night before. I stayed in the hospital alone for the first night with my baby. It was scary, hard, but a joy.
Since I was in the hospital my dear friend picked my mom up from the hospital. I couldn't be more indebted to her. Thank you Aneesa.
My mom and sister showed up Thursday afternoon and we all partied in the small little hospital room. I don't even want to know what the nurses were thinking. haha probably that we were crazy. Ty came back after his rotation, then they all left again that night. Friday I was being released. Ty still had rotation he couldn't miss, so thankfully my mom was there to take me home. I feel bad that Tyson had to miss going home and he wasn't with me for the nights. But such is life...and we have the rest of this little mans life to be together.
I love my new litle family.
:)
