Space bags

Why i didn't think of using this invention before. I'll never know.
Seriously though.
Best. Invention. Ever.
I was skeptical.
But I needed more space.
Especially since the dresser that has stored our blankets will soon belong to a little Experiment.
I needed to do something.
But those storage buckets only hold so much.
and our basement is...well...not the greatest.
It floods any and EVERY time it rains.
It stays damp because of the humidity.
Wich is really the perfect living space for mold.
and my house is so old that there isn't cement exactly on the floor down there.
Dirt.
Oh yes. There is a tree log that helps hold up the foundation too.
Love Pittsburgh houses.

Back to Space Bags.
Because of the moldy way things end up if I store them in my basement, when I walked into Ross and saw space bags, all I could think of was the info-mercerial when the lady dumps dirty water onto the bag and they come out clean.
I decided I'd try them out.
Anything to keep mold out.
(I'm pretty sure that being married to a Micro major, who is "all knowing" about "all" dieseases, has rubbed off on me. I'm now more self-aware of Mold, listeria, and samenolla)

After fitting what is seen on the right (the big pile of blankets) into a bag and sucking the air out, reducing the size to what is seen on the bottom left (with the green blankets) I have become convinced. I might just use these with the rest of my storage bins.
(especially how one bucket full of my sweaters and hoodies fit into one space bag and now only takes up half of the bucket....)

SoLd.

Someone who lived in a Pittsburgh house (no closets) must have invented these.
Why didn't I think of that? Such a simple idea.
