**Journal...**

I came across something that I'm hoping will change my attitude. Just thought I'd share it.
I was reading a book. It's called "Tranquil Light" by Anita Stansfield. This little segment Jackson Leeds, the main character, is talking with his bishop. His bishop was giving him some advice...except I think it was for me.
"I hope you can take my word for it when I tell you that with my years of experience in living the gospel, there is no good thing that happens without Satan opposing it in every possible way. Look again at the sentence you just read. It doesn't say opposition in some things; it says all things. It doesn't say there might be opposition. It says there must needs be opposition. It's part of the plan, and it's necessary to face the opposition in order to prove ourselves throughout this earth life. Over time and with practice, you will learn to recognize the workings of Satan when he's trying to hold you back. Depression, discouragement, unwarranted guilt are all among his tools. It's important for us to be able to separate what's real and true from the adversary's attempts to confuse and discourage us. When you hear false messages in your head, you need to recognize them for what they are and correct your thinking."
2 Nephi Chapter 2 verse 11.
"For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things. If not so, my first-born in the wilderness, righteousness could not be brought to pass, neither wickedness, neither holiness nor misery, neither good nor bad..."
How true is that?
Sometimes I love it when answers to questions come in such a direct way with an explanation.
