White Coat Ceremony

Tyson's white coat ceremony!!
"What the heck is that?" you may ask...Well I'm still not sure. It's a ceremony where he gets a white coat. :) Kidding. Sorta. Ty is now a med student. he has his "doctors" coat. and he's a total hottie in it!! I love him to death and I'm so very proud of him!! I was so glad that his Mom and Dad were able to stay with us for the week and were able to be here with us!
So Tyson's ceremony was last week. Sunday August 8th. Since then he has been at the school for an orientation week. and I have been bored to death!! Maybe one day I'll find a job. (hopefully) Tuesday night Ty and I went to a non-traditional students dinner gathering place. WOW. First off Tyson married a LOSER! for two reasons that I'll explain to you in a minute. First off let me tell you my introduction of myself. (everybody there had to stand and introduce themselves and say a little about themselves.) So I'm the 3rd person to go. I stand up say "hey my names Emily, I'm Tyson's wife...(turn to the main guy over it...what else do you want me to say?...) So about myself...I am totally into sports and have been my whole life, I like outside activities...I went to school to study Elementary Education and Psychology, but I put my education on hold so that I could move out here with Ty." Then I sat down. thinking hey for hating public speaking and talking in front of other people that actually went pretty dang good. Not great...but good, and I wasn't' even that embarrassed!! So then the night moves on and others get up and talk about themselves. Here's where I become the loser. 35% of the other significant others that stood up to talk about themselves were doing something "amazing" like went to Harvard, or got some engineering degree, 45% were the women going to school and the significant other was doing something else, 5% of the women were going to med school with their husband/boyfriend, and the remaining 15% well they stayed in their hometowns to finish their own schooling. So here's the loser in me. One: I did not go into something "smart" Elementary Education VS an MBA or a Masters in Statistics, or Engineering..who wins. Two: I am not the smart one who is going to medical school Tyson is the genius...and since I'm not the one going to school, apparently I am not going to Med school with my husband. And finally Three: uh...didn't realize long distant relationships where that popular, especially when you have kids. So me thinking that putting my education on hold for my husbands apparently isn't the "wise" thing to do. So call me a loser :) it's okay. Tyson wouldn't be able to survive on his own if I was to head home and finish my degree anyways, not that I think highly of myself but let's be honest with ourselves...he'd miss me ;) haha. Anyways, after a little chat with my dad he helped put it into perspective a little. Still talk about a massive blow to to the ego. Shoulda just stood up and said "waz up". Anyways life is fun!

Ummm...going in to Elementary Ed SO does not make you a loser! Have any one of those statistic or engineering majors try to stand in front of 30 7-year olds for a week straight, and they'd run out crying. You're fine, you ought to be proud of it!
