Moab Adventures!

Over Labor day Tyson and I took off to the land of "lowering my life expentancy" a.k.a. Moab.
Tyson and I left for Moab Friday after he got out of school. We reached Moab finally around 8:45 PM. It was so nice getting to be with just him for a bit. Kinda like our honeymoon all over again! Me and him doing what we want to do.

Saturday Ty and I took off to Arches National Park. It was a lot of fun just hiking all over there. We hiked to the Delicate Arch (the main reason we wanted to go early because I wanted to get some cool pictures of that arch ((even though Ty wouldn't take me there at dawn or dusk...) we also did some pretty MASSIVE rock climbing -at least for me- while we were walking around delicate arch) and then we just fooled around seeing sights. It was so much fun being with him and playing around like we were kids! I love him a ton!

Saturday night Ty's parents and sister got there and so we met up with them at the hotel when I couldn't handle Ty's complainging about being sore and tired anymore. haha. We went to dinner at the Moab Brewery. YuM. Then went home and got ready for bed for the next days adventure. :)

!Rock-crawling here we come!
Sunday we went up to the top of Hurrah (sp?) Pass. It was very pretty. It never ceses to amaze me how amazing Moab is. The creation behind it....the way it is. It is true beauty, and I love it there. (minus the dirt/dust and Tyson lowering how long i'll be living.)
After we visited Hurrah Pass we went on the Kane Creek Canyon trail. WoW. I always forget how scary some of the things are. AND how much scarier they are when I'M the driver!! haha. yes you heard correctly, I drove the first part of the trail. YAY ME! But then I handed the reins over to Ty. ;) But basically I'm a pro driver!!

Notice how happy I look when I drive...and Notice Ty's face when I drive

Please pardon my scream of DAAAAaaaaHHHH during the 2nd video....and please pardon the fact that I may have gotten really scared and forgot to keep the camera on the jeep. Also please realize we are right next to a major drop off!!

And no Tyson ended up not being able to make it up this one. After bending the crap out of his nerf bars, i guess I should be thankful that's really all the damage that was done, His dad ended up having to pull him up! haha
watch the video and notice why sometimes this Moab stuff scares me....and you can't see it but I'm standing on an EDGE/CLIFF/COMPLETE DROPP OFF 100 FEET DOWN!! yeah we could basically fall to our death if Ty was any crazier!! Darn kid. I wouldn't ride in the Jeep for this obstacle. I figured that I didn't really want to die just yet. Yes there is a couple of them with Ty trying the same thing...and no Ty was not able to make it up on his own. darn. If only he had lockers. He had to get help from his dad. haha.
Also notice in the video how he comes down right on his nerf bars! yes it bent the crap out of the bar. But thankfully we had those other wise the back door would have been SSOOOOoooo ruined!!
We did make it back alive...good news...and for dinner that night I cherished my organic greens salad and peperoni and olive pizza! YuM!!
Monday we took off and went to Top of the World which I drove all the way up! I'm so freakin PROUD of myself!! I'm seriously a pro driver!! I also think that Tyson and I drove Michele (Ty's mom) nuts! Welcome to "Ty's and I's" world of acting like dorks!! Top of the world scared the crap out of me...It is seriously the scariest spot. it gives me anxiety. it's so high!! wo. yes I'm a tad bit afraid of hights if you havn't noticed. but it was so pretty up there. oh yeah...and we got in a water fight...IN the jeep!!
After this trail we went across the street and we did kokapelli (sp?) (or as the new Moab book calls it Dome Platu (sp?)) trail. That trail was a lot of fun too!! It was a fairly basic easy trail. We went to see "Christensen/Nacey Arch" or as the Moab book now calls it La Boca Arch. We also went and saw some huge caves and some small cabins that were built during the uranimum mining seasons. And we also found this little house in the rock! haha. It's similar to the place called "hole-n-the rock" but it's not as big and you don't have to pay to enter. and not many people know about it. It was so neat. there was a fire place in it and stairs, STAIRS in a rock, to go to a room up in the rock more!! Amazing :)
Welp it was an awesome trip! I was super sad to leave and even more sad to have to go back to work...but oh well. That's life and I guess I should be thankful that I had to oppournity to go do something fun for the weekend!
