I think I may have figured out my problem with big cities. Just why can't I handle them? Well I don't think I exactly knew until tonight. Tyson gave me a big surprise....
We stayed up forever playing Mario Kart Wii. Weird thing is Ty's pretty good at getting in bed at exactly 10:30 when he works the next day, but I wasn't going to complain that it was 11:45 and he was still up with me playing. We were having a blast! Ty then asked me just how tired I was. Well I don't know tired enough that I probably could fall asleep, but if I needed to stay up I could do that too. So he threw my sweat pants at me and a sweater and told me to change and we're going. Ummm...where??
Tonight was the meteor shower only I didn't know, and it was Ty's spur of the moment date! So we got in his jeep and took off just down to the park below our house...as we got out to the middle of the field we decided it wasn't going to work to good because of the parks lights and the street lights. So we got back into the jeep and thought about where to go next. He had an idea. We'd take off into Farr West. Got there looked up at the sky and decided it was better over at the park. Because of the lights from the freeway and all the gas stations and restaurants we couldn't see the sky...those lights lit up the sky. Lame. So this time we headed to the North Ogden divide. This one had to work. We got to the very top pulled off and sat out on the hood of the jeep and looked up in the sky. It was grand. We didn't see the 10 every minute like the news said we would, but I think it was because of all the lights from North Ogden still, but we did see a bunch. It was heavenly. I don't remember the last time Tyson and I sat out watching the stars and just talking...(wait actually I do, and the police came and basically thought a whole lot more than us just watching the stars and making out was going on...promise to heaven nothing was. But it was pretty funny!!...) Crazy thing is, North Ogden/Pleasant view isn't even a busy place. It's not some "big city". We're just here. How would a normal "big city" look? Would you even be able to find ONE star in the sky?
Well we got home at like 2 in the morning. It was the best night ever! Thanks Ty!!
Great news is though...because of this night I absolutely resent big cities. How in the world are you supposed to A sleep when lights will be shining into your room. or B look at the freaking stars! watching stars has got to be the most relaxing thing ever! Don't you just ever stare up at them and wonder about heaven and the universe and religion. I do. A lot. I think I would go insane if I couldn't. Does anyone else feel this way? I mean all these lights...can't we shut them off one night and just relax and enjoy the world and what we have? Or do we really have to be on the go at all times of the day and night. I wouldn't make it in a big city. I couldn't handle all the hussle and bustle. I'd get trampled on when I walk because I would walk at a slower pace rather than a sprint.
Crap, I'm in trouble.
Pray for Tennessee, or North Carolina.
